just wondering as the magnetic L plates don't stick to the bonnet,wings,boot etc - great! not much steel in it is there??? they just slide off the bonnet.

If it's pre face it's aluminium mate
Its aluminium on the Facelifts as well

Ar you shore mate fort the was alot heavier that's why they don't have gas struts
Think it's the other way round Paul. Steel for pre-face, aluminium for facelift, that's why you can't put hydraulic lifter on the facelifts because it will bend the bonnet. The facelift bonnets are lighter by a long way.

Possibly mate thought the facelifts was alot heavier

Don't stick l plates to your car that's a serious no no can be felt witht the whip
Preface bonnet is Aluminium, frame and panel.
