    Default Brake upgrade...

Well I managed to get my hands on a set of 314mm calipers/carrieirs from a GSI

Popped into my local vx dealer to give the membership trade card some abuse. Just want to know if ive ordered everything I need to have these fitted.

    Pads and Discs
    Disc shield plates
    New Carrier Bolts

THey had the discs/pads and bolts in stock, but the disc shields have to be ordered from opel and take 7-14 days ....I wanted them fitted this friday

Oh well gives me more time to clean and paint lol. So yeah have I missed anything or any advice? My car is a 2006 sri they brakes came of a 2003 GSI.

    Cheers peeps

grab some union bolt washers for the brake lines, just in case. I know one of mine failed and has been weeping for a while, need to change them.

I never bothered with the dust shields - just cut the old disc away so it didn't interfere. Otherwise it involves taking off the whole hub and I couldn't be arsed with that...

    Cheers for the advice guys.....

Penfold......So no need for that silly 7-10 day wait if I just cut away the old dust shield to fit the new disc size?
If so then they will be on the car Friday

Just been cleaning them up and I noticed on the metal clip that goes on the outside of the caliper it has 345 stamped on it. Is there a way to tell the differance between the 314/345 calipers. I just thought 314's as they came of a GSI..........

I would imagine that 314/345 is the diameter of the disc so measure that if you have old discs

Spotted a set of braided hoses, the guy said he brought them for his 1.9cdti sri...Would these fit my 2.2 direct sri with the 314mm calipers..

Ive emailed the manufacturer of the hoses but we all know how slow they can be hehe.

Yes as far as I know they would. The only issue was with rears as some suppliers kept using the vec b size. I bought Goodrige in the end but others have found favour elsewhere.
