    Default H&RSport Springs.

I'm about to order a set of springs for my car. Eibach's seem to be the popular choice, but the appeal of dropping 25mm instead of 15mm appeals much more to me.
I've tried various searches but the word H&R is too small to search, frustratingly, so new thread started.
What I wanted to know was what the quality is like, what the ride feels like. Whether or not anyone has suffered any knocking when using these springs. I am on SRI suspension already so the drop should not be a problem in theory.
The price is about £20 more than Eibach springs.

Fitted H&R 40mm drop springs on my estate a month or so ago combined with Bilstein B6 shocks. It's stunning to drive on, goes round corners like its on rails (as JohnSH8892 will vouch for ) and smooth, comfortable and not too harsh.

Cost wise, I spent £700 exactly on the springs and shocks, spent just under £1400 total on the suspension (strut top mounts, strut top bearings, drop links, rear upper control arms, poly ARB bushes and a full four wheel alignment after it was all done all at the same time as the springs and shocks).

Ahh cheers Ian, I do recall reading about your new suspension, with a fair few pics of the install in the rain if I remember correctly. Good to hear the handling is brilliant.
Just to check, there shouldn't be any issue with using these springs on the standard SRI shocks should there?

I don't see why not, although the handling won't be quite as tight, but it will be a vast improvement over the standard springs. I know people fit 45mm drop PI springs on standard shocks with no issues.

Although be warned if any of the suspension parts are worn, this will show them up very quickly indeed

Bit of a trek for you, but if you wanted to feel how it handles, you'd be very welcome to pop over one evening, that's what John did and he's now getting the identical setup for his estate having felt the way mine handles.

I would take you up on that, but was going to order them today so I can get them to the friend that's fitting them as soon as possible. I don't have the money for new shocks, even though I do very much want them, so maybe they can go on the christmas list for me!
I found the thread with the pictures of your's with them fitted. Looks stunning, exactly where you would want the car to sit.
I'll start a little savings jar in case it does destroy any of the other bits and bobs on the suspension. I have a wish list set up, so would be very easy to order the new parts should anything go wrong lol.

Mark1319 has had H&R springs fitted to his edition 100 for years now, they do sit lower than my eibach ones and he sings their praises. So good choice..

    Good to know.
Unfortunately they won't be getting to me for 7-10 days. But I'll get over it, will give me a chance to get excited about them again!
