    Hi all,

My front flexi keeps blowing, have tried patching it up a few times but it doesnt last very long so it looks like I have to bite the bullet and buy a new front part of the exhaust.

The annoying thing is on the 3.2 that section includes the cat so its gonna set me back around £200.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how much I might get for the old cat if I sold it to a scrap yard? which will help towards the cost of the new one.

    Cheers,
    Dave

wouldnt it be cheaper to take it off and take the front pipe and get a new flexi pipe welded on shouldnt be no more than £60 to do that whilst you have the front pipe off you can knock the inside of your cat out and that will release a little more power and will still pass all the new mot regs next year
as have you seen the price of the new down pipe with cat for these cars

If you are going to take it off you could renew the two upper sections of flexi as well. I’ve got a bit of a blow from one of the sections but keep putting off getting it fixed. The garage said they could fix it but the challenge would be getting the correct diameter of flex (would not know till they get it off). Have been keeping my eye out for a 2nd hand one, to swap over.

On ebay a new front section is about £220

Now I have actually thought about it properly and had a look on ebay, there are some replacement flexi's I could get, my brothers the manager of a garage so taking down after work for them to check the size of it.

Hopefully be ordering something like this later and they can cut the old one out and weld the new one in for free.

    £15-25 is a lot better than £200+

Total cost was £17.10 ordered the 50mmx150mm off MIJ's website.
