    Question Poor starting 1.9 CDTI 120 Hot & Cold

    Can anyone help with my poor starting 1.9 cdti 120 Vectra (2007) hot & cold. I have had the car from new and it has only covered 27k and is well maintained. The problem started while under warranty when it would occasionally be a problem to start when hot. As no fault codes were recorded and it did not do it for the dealer it never got resolved. It has progressively got worse and now does it hot and cold. It seems to try and start on 2 or 3 cylinders which ain't enough to keep it going so you have to keep the starter turning untill it fires up properly. Not good for the starter or battery. When it eventually starts you get a cloud of smoke.
    Following tips on here I have cleaned and modified the EGR valve, changed the thermostat temp sender, replaced the crankshaft sensor and was going the modifie injector 3 but mine appears to have the heavier gauge wire and clean tight connections.
    Any other advise will be much appreciated.

    valve clearances? (yes, the 120 has them...)

    Injector leak off test?

    Thanks for the pointers,
    I have checked the valve clearances and they are ok.
    Am I right in saying the injector leak off test needs to done by a specialist ?
    Any idea of cost ?
