    Default Blown Baffles

How do you know if the baffles in the back boxes are broken?

dependant on the type of baffles fitted ... if there the fixed "solid" type get under the car and use the side of your fist and hit the back boxes(obviously make sure its not hot first ) if there is a rattle then there breaking up inside

the other type as stated will have steel wool or equivalent and then it starts falling out the back

Thanks guys, nope... not what I'm thinking then.

Just developed a metal rattle at the back of the car and I think its the exhaust backboxes.

Might just be rattling against the bodywork so going to check when I get it back home

if not its possable the baffle has dropped inside get under the car and hit each back box you might be able to hear one of them rattle. in the 2mth i owned a renault scenic i had a baffle go in the center had it replaced the first week of having the bus then had to get it replaced again before i got rid as it went again within 2 mth thats french cars for you it only rattled on tickover but the sound was horrid
