    Default possible flywheel problem???

    Hey peeeps!

Right... as per my other thread, i done the drivers front hub/wheel bearing today an it got rid of a few horrible noises an so on but.................

I still getting a vibrating/judder???? when pulling away, Not terrible but still not smooth, its ok when cruising/following traffic just mainly when you accelerate?

Also noticed today that you can kind of feel it when you rev it on tick over?

    Flywheel or something else?

    TIA

With the engine running, and car parked in neutral, press the clutch slowly. You'll hear it start to rattle badly when it's about half way down if it's your DMF.

If it's the flywheel I wouldn't worry mine has been rattling for the last 107k. So when funds allow get it fixed but I wouldn't say it's an urgency.

ah right ok guys cheers... and Tony, pressing the clutch down while in neutral makes no noise difference at all?

its so hard to describe, it may just be me as my last car was kinda noisey not used to having a quiet engined car pmsl

That def sounds like a clutch or DMF related issue tbh. What's the mileage and has the clutch been changed before?

its on 107k, got part s/h but no mention of clutch? are you able to top up or check the hydraulic clutch fluid level? if that was low would it cause that kind of problem?

Ok..... so..... took it to a garage this morning, guy drove it round for a few miles, said in his opinion its very early signs that theres slight play in the dmf.... quoted £600-£700 including parts.. an arguable price or pretty fair??

I am kind of tempted to do it myself ..... hmmmmm .....

Is that price for just the DMF? Or the clutch, dmf, and slave cylinder?

Best get all three done while the 'box is out
