    Default gutless but no limp

03 Vectra 2.2 DTi still not happy. I've cleaned the EGR, throttle body, boost sensor, and portion of the upper inlet manifold that is accessible when the throttle body is removed.

The car did start easier I think, though tomorrow morning will determine that properly, but it is still gutless, I can hear the turbo dumping, so I guess it is sucking in air, but I'm not feeling any assistance.

I have removed a few pipes and checked for holes and nothing yet, but I do have some silicon pipes on their way.

However, cleaning the throttle body this morning did one interesting thing, no limp mode, I just drove a 12 mile round round trip with no limp, even redlined it in 2nd, and I think got up to 4000 in 3rd with no limp, which is a good sign, but still getting dragged by 1.2 Corsas at the lights.

There is also very little acceleration in 4th and 5th, I had my foot flat in 4th at 50mph which would normally result in limp, but the acceleration was pedestrian, whereas in my old 1.9Tdi toledo the pickup was immediate, please tell me when it is sorted the performance will be similar to a VAG 1.9? Otherwise my "upgrade" will be in vein.

So, IF the silicon vacuum pipes do not sort the problem, what else could be wrong? the only code is for positive deviation, which I believe is lack of boost.

Started as usual this morning, no worse or better. But again no limp coming into work, despite trying to get it to limp. Which is odd, if there was a vacuum leak it should limp.

Now the only other thing I can think of then is that Turbo might be stuck wide open, hence the lack of power and hearing the dump, but not the turbo spooling up.

I did run a can of 10k boost through it 10 days ago, which did clear some crap out, but maybe I will try again before committing to having it removed and cleaned properly. Or I could wait for my 2 year warranty to turn up then use that for a new turbo!

but I can still feel back pressure coming from the exhaust, so I assume all ok, plus having a DPF I assume that would throw a code, whereas all I am getting is a boost positive deviation error.

this boost positive deviation error is usually associated with the boost sensor itself what they usually just need is a clean, but i am assuming you would of allready done this , so it may be the sensor has gone T U

If you have a hatch back then you dont have a DPF. They were only fitted to Signums and Estates. And then I think only the common rails got them. As bob says check the boost sensor is clean. They can be damaged by vigerous cleaning so be gentle. If the sensor is bent or damaged then you can replace them from the dealers for about £40.

Oh, the boost sensor was cleaned but perhaps it was damaged in the process (or prior). I'm still waiting for my vacuum pipes (a week now), so I might wait until I replace them, and will hopefully have my OBD2 reader so can check for any new codes too, if still not right might spring for a new boost sensor.
