Default Wow that was a hell of a pothole!

Just over a week ago I went over a 'ramp' in the road at about 40mph due to the fact that the idiots repairing the road had placed the damn signs right next to the ramp. The impact was so hard that the ultra sonic sensors in the roof fell down

Having stopped and checked the tyres/wheels for damage I was satisfied that they were ok and the car felt fine to drive and I thought I had been lucky.....I was wrong. Whilst at the rolling road day last weekend they couldn't get my car to sit true in the rollers and put it down to the tracking being well out. Fair enough I thought, i'll get the tracking done but now the car is dropping oil on the garage floor.....from the steering rack.

I am so annoyed but I can't even prove it was that ramp that caused it as they were patching the road at the time so now i'm left with a 250 quid bill for a new steering rack. To say my blood is boiling would be an understatement.

Does anyone know if the rack can be taken out without removing the subframe or am I gonna have to take it off again

that sounds one hell of a pothole bud, I'd do as big jon suggested and get onto the council, they're responsible for the state of the road so try get them to cough up.

Not a peep from it mate, the only reason I know it's gone is because there is oil coming out of the passenger side gaitor and there shouldn't be

This is gonna sound really lazy but I just can't be bothered with the hassle of it all mate. i'd rather just use my precious time to go and sort it

So does anyone know about the speed sensor as it'd could mean the difference between 150 and 250 quid
