    Default vibrating/shuddering/droaning noise???

Hey hey peeps! just joined up today to see how you fine people roll got a 02 plate vectra 2.2ls yesterday (fixer upper/project)

and have noticed, when you pull away, there is a vibrating/shudder felt mainly from drivers seat (as a passenger u cant really feel it) but as you progress through the gears it turns into a loud whiring/droaning noise!

Am i right in thinking wheel bearing? jacked the drivers front up and spun the wheel an its VERY noisey, an you can feel vibrations on the wing just from spinning it by hand, but there doesn't seem to be any play in the wheel itself? can you get the noise without the play? or would that suggest its something else like CV joint or D/S etc??? I was thinking it could have been flywheel related but with the engine running on tickover, I rolled down a hill from standstill and it still done it? does that rule out flywheel?? sorry for the few questions

I would say drive shaft mate. With you feeling it in floor aswell.

Although I would prob have a stab at changing bearing if it's already noisy

You won't have IDS on yours dude. It was only fitted as an optional extra to some of the later cars that specified it and all VXRs if I remember right.

Should be. You will have a part number on the hub somewhere I would imagine, just make sure they match the ones on the Ebay link. I can't see it being wrong though, just worth checking with it not being a VX part and an Ebay add.

    *UPDATE*

Done the hub/wheel bearing today, my oh my was it hot

anyways....the drive is so much smoother now i cant believe it! no horribly whining, vibrating noise but i still have a problem (only slight) with a bit of juddering but will make a thread in the other section as personally i think its something to do with the flywheel
