Dials intermittent

Hi all, I recently purchased a 1.8 Sri for the wife and within a week the dials all die and then come back on again, this can happen 2 or 3 times in one journey or not for a couple of days. I have taken it back to the stealer (term I've picked up from here) after having the car for 3 days they can not find anything wrong and have said they will change the speedo unit. Is this likely to fix the problem or could it be the CIM which I have read about. Also the wife said that once when driving down the dual carrige way she took her foot of the pedals and the car did not slow, as if the cruis control was on. But she didn't touch the cc button. Any thought would be appreciated as need the car back and don't want to have to return to stealer again.

Thanks, tried cleaning the abs plug and then took to the stealer as it's still under warranty think I'll try cleaning the CIM contacts if it's not fixed.

If its under warranty, then let them deal with it mate.

My dials died a few days ago. After a quick post on here I replaced fuse F17 in the fuse box by the glovebox and they worked. The fuse was not blown but really corroded.

Maybe worth a quick check for what its worth??
