    Default 2002 sri sat nav upgrade installation queries

    hello every 1 , im new hear .
    iv a 2002 sri with the standard 4 cd changer/mpg etc screen & im wanting 2 upgrade it 2 sat nav,
    if i buy a sat nav unit is it just a case of plug & play or wat else will i have 2 do/buy
    will i still b able 2 use my steering wheel controls etc etc, thanks
    any information will b greatly appreciated

    a cd70 will not work because it is full can bus you will nee a gps antenna then run all the cabling for that through , get a tom tom , its far easier and cheaper .

    thanks lads, iv been told 2 go the tom tom route b4, im really trying 2 explore every avenue , especially as id really prefer the inbuil unit, is there any 1 out there who has attempted/achieved this upgrade?

    Yep, tom tom is the easy option. get the tom tom with an additional gps receiver. mount the tom tom unit anywhere, and just run the gps receiver to the top of the windscreen, just behind the rear view. stops the tea leafs seeing sucker marks on the windscreen, and smashing your locks or window to see whats in the glove box!

    Tom Tom is the way to go mate. Had a look for the thread but can't find it, just reference to it. £1500 to just fit the thing was one point and that is before you buy it!

    my dreams have well & truly been dashed, where would u reccomend mounting the tommy tom so it looks like part of the car & not a cheap alternative, thanks again every1

    I suppose 1 route you could go is , fit an aftermarket headunit and then mount the tom tom where the factory screen is .

    so how much do you think it will cost you to fit the unit if you did have all you need to install it

    give you price and i will tell you how far you are out
