Default Vaux Customer Services Dual Mass Flywheel

    Hi all.
The time has come to replace the dual mass flywheel on our 07 Vectra (47,000mls)
I knew it was not gonna be a cheap job so i had a quote at Vauxhall and its bocked in for next week.
Yesterday I emailed Vaux Customer Support asking them if they could help with the cost as its very expensive.
This morning at 8 o'clock I received a phone call from Vauxhall Customer Services saying that a full diagnostic inspection of the dual mass flywheel would have to be carried out before they could make a decision on helping me fund the replacment.
Lets see how this story pans out I'll let you all know.
    Cheers
    Chris

Just don't go getting your hopes up, It's vauxhall, they'll probably charge YOU for the pleasure of refusing your claim

Mate, Vx will charge you £600'ish for a flywheel only, you can get a whole new clutch, dmf and slave for approx £600 in Brum from clutch specialist and waranted for a year.
My mate had his done from there and is well happy.
Try them, city clutchs in Digbeth, Birmingham.
Vx will will strip your car down and then say no and will charge you for the labour.

Thx to everyone for your replies.
Ok I'll explain more, I already priced up the job with the intentions of doing it myself but decided against this due to not having a driveway or anywhere else suitable to take it and a price I was quoted (Ill explain below). Parts came to approx £600 , Sachs dmf, 3 piece clutch kit, flywheel bolts and gearbox oil.
Next I went to Brandish Vaux (agent)in Coventry to buy oil, filters, pads and other parts for a service. Whilst in there I spoke with them regarding replacing the Dmf and clutch kit. I managed to negotiate the complete job down to a grand (parts and labour), so that left me thinking for the additional 400 quid labour charge and not having a suitable place to take the job on its gotta make sense.
I know a grand is alot of money but it has to be sorted and I dont think I'd find it cheaper else where?
Then I contacted Vaux customer services to see it they would help with the costs.
So this is the bottom line. Its a grand without Vaux customer services getting involved or a requote if they decide to, then adjusted to what ever they feel they should help towards (labour/parts whatever)
    Does this make sense?
    Thx

Yes, but DO NOT hold any hope of Vx giving any contribution. Once its out of warranty, your on your own....literally.
We had a brake calliper binding issue when my dads car was 1 month out of warranty and they didnt want to know.

Drive to Brum, give your car in to CC, go Bull Ring and spend the £400 we are trying to save you!! My mate gave his on at about 8am, by 11am it was all done.

Also, when we did his, we were advised that it was false econony to not do the clutch at the same time. CC use Sachs and LUK parts so its all good

Rest is up to you bud.

Hi Stopi, I’m from Cov also with a 07 Cdti 150 exclusiv and my DMF started rattling badly at 37,000 miles and it was replaced earlier this year.

I looked around the Coventry area and in the end went to A1 Clutches in Tipton (£638.60), have a look at the attached thread for recommendations.

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129900
From experience I would sooner save the £360 than go to the dealers.
