    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2006

    Default Engine getting too hot?

Ive noticed that my temp gauge is fairly active and never sits at 1 temp like all my other cars have.

Its moved between 82 and 90 all the time and im worried that its going to overheat.

    Is this normal for vectra's?

    Thanks

As long as the fan kicks in & brings the temp down you're ok

If your worried its going to over heat then just go out for a drive, get it nice and warm and then return home and let it idle on the drive to make sure the fans cut in and out.

Although with both of mine the needle used to move to the 12 o'clock position and stay there, no matter what.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Wrong info above its 86-88, on short runs at night & early am so would be slightly higher in hot weather so 90 isnt bad.

    Cheers guys

I dont know if this is or would have any effect on the engine temp but my coolant seems very watery, its not the bright pink that ive used in my other cars but a pale pink asthough its been watered down quite a bit.

I had to suck some out as when the engine was cold(left over night) it was well over the max mark.

I think im going to drain it out and refil it with some new collant mixed 50/50 with water.

No tht would not and never has effected the temp of the engine, all tht the colour tells you is how strong the mix of anti freeze. In all the time i had this car(3 years and 6 months) i NEVER EVER had any trouble with the engine temp, the water/antifreeze wouldnt of been overfilled while i had it.Maybes you should look at your driving style????
