I could post a photo of the LPG system on my 1.8 Vectra - but it's the Vauxhall factory fitted Dual Fuel system, so incredibly hard to tell what's not part of the petrol only 1.8 as it uses the same type of pipes and wiring looms as the rest of the engine bay. The injectors are mounted on the manifold itself with a fuel rail just like the petrol one for example.
Something to note though if you're doing an aftermarket conversion is that because Vauxhall sold the 1.8 with LPG, the Z18XE engine was designed to run on LPG from the outset. It has hardened valve seats, beefed up ignition system and cam timing that's suited to LPG as well as petrol. The engine was even sold in vehicles in some markets (Australia I think) as LPG only - with no petrol tank or injectors at all!
thanks fellas
sort of cost are ya looking at to do this? Just a thought.
i am looking for sume one to do this to mine
the prize for the conversion in my country is 450 euros with 2 year warranty
and the prize of LPG is 0.6e and petrol is 1.4e
I would guess a rough cost would be somewhere around £700 for a decent system fitted in the UK for the four cylinder Vectras.
A couple of friends of mine had their cars converted last year. Cost was £600 for a Mitsubishi Colt 1.6, and £900 for a Volkswagen Golf VR6. He's very smug driving around in his 2.8 litre VR6 knowing that it's only costing him about 12p a mile
LPG is currently around 70p a litre in most of the UK at the moment - the supermarkets are usually cheapest, followed by caravan dealers and boat yards.
I'm getting about 350 miles to a 45 litre tank on my Vectra 1.8. That's £30 worth of fuel. Most systems will need to start on petrol in the UK (it's not warm enough usually to start on LPG only here), so you'll need to remember to put some in every once in a while. I think I put about half a tank in a year
