Been trawling for a How2 or instructions on changing the fuel filter in my 2.0DTi. Any one know if there is a HOW2 or can tell me if its an easy job/ how to do it......
Thanks in advance

I'd do this with a hot engine because as soon as it kicks into life you'll be revving the engine to suck the diesel through without the engine dying. The filter is the round cannister at the back right of the engine bay. 2 pipes going into the top and an electrical connector.
1) Unplug the electrical connector.
2) Undo the screw on the lid, remove the lid and pull the old filter away.
3) Replace the 2 seals - wipe them in diesel first.
4) Put the new filter in.
5) Fill the housing with fresh diesel or 2 stroke oil/diesel.
6) Put the lid on and screw it down. Plug in the electrical connector.
7) Crank the ignition in 15 second bursts until it fires. Don't do more than 4 at a time. If you have to, give it a few minutes for the starter to cool down. If it won't go, take the lid off the housing and make sure the diesel is still in there. Fill if needed.
8) As soon as the ignition catches, foot down on the accelerator. the revs need to be high for it to pull the diesel through. Keep them raised for a while then let them drop. Then leave it to tick over for a while once you're happy it's running.
If it still won't fire, you can crack one of the nuts off the fuel pipes before the injectors to bleed the air through.
Er ok, so what that says to me is have a mechanic pal near by just in case lol
nah its so easy! just make sure you fill the housing back up with diesel when you put the new filter in
its strange i have no problems with taking the interior to peices and refitting it, or adding electrical components to things, but when it come to mechanics, I doubt my abilities.
TBH i was chuffed with myself for even attempting the Air filter and pollen filter. I know they are easy but its a start and led to wanting to learn to do bigger things to my car.
