Which oil should i use when sevice is done?

Hi all,
I have a 1.8 VVT with 36,000 miles. Would it be advisable to use fully synthetic oil?

Any brands and prices would be greatly appriciated.

Find out what oil they will be using on the service (ie OE it should be GM-LL specification)
Otherwise use any fully synthetic oil for topup purposes (as it will only be in the engine for up to 10K miles and the existing oil is already nearing saturation)

GM specific 5/30 fully synthetic is what you need. I use Castrol Magnatec, £26 at Asda at the moment, against £31 at Halfords.
