Default When should my turbo kick in?

Ive got a 2006 1.9cdti SRI with 65k on the clock and i was wondering when the turbo should kick in?

It seems to be about 2.5k but ive read some people have it kick in at 1.5k?

I cant hear it spooling up as i have a K&N panel filter fitted so just hear the engine.

Mine used to be about 2k until I cleaned the boost sensor. For 5 mines work it's well worth it, you may be surpised with the difference

clean the boost sensor and EGR valve - and also worth running some Wynn's EGR3 Inlet cleaner through too.

Another thing to check - is your inlet swirl rod still attached?

    Guys,
i took out the boost sensor and it was a little oily but nothing too bad.I gave it a clean with some WD40 which got some of the rubbish off but not a lot.I didnt have time to do the EGR valve but will be doing both of them again 2mor with some carb cleaner...i thought i had some carb cleaner but i cant find it.

I had a look at the swirl bar and its still attached but what i did notice that at the right hand side(look down from with knees on the bumper) is quite oily.Im not sure what the swirl bar sits ontop of but the other 3 rubber bits were fairly clean.

Also i noticed that one of the rubber hoses(the 4mm 1 that people replace) is quite perished so will replace the short section when i get some.

    Thanks for you suggestions guys
