dont strip the sump
Cry now.
Replace all filters (air, fuel, and pollen)
Take the car to National Tyres and have them complete the oil and oil filter (cheapest method for this engine)
Put the car through MoT, as this is more stringent than OE suspension, steering, and brake checks
However, the dealership cost on a Masterfit Service (plus adding the fuel, air, and pollen filters) is about the same
What sort of mileage is the engine on?
Just serviced my V6 CDTI mate at the garage where my boy works £220.00 all in..didnt think that was bad..
Make sure you've got some spare diesel to top fuel filter housing up. Or you'll have a mare getting it started again
The oil filter housing is a pig to get off. had to buy a special tool. V6 diesel are easy to start with a lossened inj pipe and a few turns. If you replace the pump or take pump out to do suction valves you need an electric pump to pull fuel through.
Serviced the car today and all seems to have gone well. The oil filter housing was indeed a swine to get off. I snapped a strap wrench mullered a chain wrench but some guys at my local garage lent (cost me a few beers) me a HUGE set of grips which brought it off no worries. just waiting for the air filter now then all done for about £150. £60 of that was for 2 gallons of oil.
150 notes is a lot of money even with the 2 gallons of oil
i got all the filters air, fuel, oil and pollen from eurocarparts for £26 last time i did it
the £22 i paid for the oil filter housing removal tool was welll worth it
