    Default 3.5mm to speakers

Not sure if this has ever been looked into:

Is it possible to use your car speakers similar to pc speakers?

So basically to bypass the HU and put sound out directly though the speakers?

That said, the signal would have to be amplified somewhere along the line. Most portable media players put out no more than 200mW and the sound would barely register. A headunit that has an Aux in would suffice.

Ive considered keeping my standard headunit for satnav and the BC functions etc, and fitting a second head unit for audio. So far I havent been bothered to do it, but maybe one day.
