Exhaust advice. What do go for?

Hey guys - my exhaust is on the way out and needs replacing (backbox). The car model is LS so the exhaust points downward but I have the SRI rear bumper so there is an exit.

Would I just need to buy an SRI exhaust for it to come out of the bumper? Would it fit fine?

The other question is, beside the standard exhaust what other options are there for a single backbox? Any suggestions?

Yup remove the backbox there now and fit an SRi one. Can't remember if the pipes are a different size so unless someone else can clarify, get one from a 1.8. Failing that and if you want a little more noise, have an exhaust place remove the backbox and fit a pipe just going to some welded on tips. Should still be quite quiet if you're just pootling about, with some growl if you boot it.

sri pipes fit no problem, i put the "y" section and some aftermarkets on my old one.You need the SRI bumper and twin exit from either 2.2 or 3.0.....





this is all for twin exit

if you dont want to buy a rear bumper and insert, buy the sri rear box and have the lower lip sprayed and cut, like this..

So I can just fit either an SRI exhaust as a direct swap or a Sportex one??

u will need to take a pic from underneath where the centre box joins onto rear box and i will let you know mate..However the floor plans are all but the same on all pre-facelifts, so cant see a problem..

thats the outer skin thats gone, but as said fit either sportex or similar or an sri box
