which strut brace have ou bought?? the Regal one?
I got it from Regal, but it doesn't say regal on it, it says Wiechers Sport
best person to ask would be Micky (AF) mate. he's fitted the regal one on his motor.
Good thinking, will drop him a PM
Getting my Eibach Pro Springs fitted tomorrow morning as well, I should have a handling dream soon !!!
Cheers
Had a quick look in my engine bay and it looks fairly straight forward except for the 'screw' type thinks that I need to undo. See Micky's thread here
Anyone know what they are called so I can get something to remove them
Cheers
you mean the torx screws? any halfords type shop will stock a set.
you may need some washers to put under the strut brace in order to lift enough to miss the brake fluid reservoir that sits over to the drivers side of the engine bay.
the same strut brace would not fit on my car despite it be fitted on others cars with the exact same engine! very strange. when fitted.....i'd try to close the bonnet and before it even went onto the catch the bonnet would flex pretty violently.
in the end, i had to send it back.
just make sure that the strut brace does not put any pressure on the reservoir! asking for trouble otherwise.
Yep, it fits with the bonnet lid down but it is putting pressure on the resevoir, I don't even think that washers will help because then the screws would not be long enough !!!!
depends by how much the bar is pushing down on the reservoir. it should only need raising by 3mm, and two big washers normally do this. there will still be sufficient thread to hold everything together.
try also using the adjustment on each side of the bar to miss the reservoir.
does take a bit of fiddling, but hopefully you should be able to get it to sit right.
