Shell Diesel Extra

I it's been discussed before but, I'm currently on my third consecutive tank of Shell Diesel 'Extra' and I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not but the car drives a hell of a lot better with this fuel in it. It's more responsive and to be honest it's flying, I'm also sure there's less of the black stuff coming out of the exhaust. I've paid 92.9 pence per litre, so it's a little bit more expensive but in my opinion well worth it.

I seem to remember Top Gear or Fifth Gear doing a feature on the more advanced fuels (albeit Petrol not Diesel) and most of the cars tested had higher figures on a Rolling Road.

Anyone else had experience of these 'advanced' fuels?

EDIT: I appreciate that the cold weather is probably helping as well.

Im going to give the more advanced fuel a go the next time i need to fill up as mines seems to be a little sluggish recently

Only premium fuel i use is BP ultimate DIESEL in the "Vectaru" and it loves it not tried shell yet but may give it a go ......Also your right cold weather will help a bit !!!

Same here, I only ever use BP Ultimate Diesel... nothing else and its much better.

not neccessarily spoons. I'm currently living in Mid wales and the nearest BP station is 20 odd miles away. Wales is over run with Texaco stations though.
