    Default HIDs poor?

Driving home from my parents tonight I was quite looking forward to using my newly installed HIDs but feel really disappointed with them! The light is beautifully white but still only projects 10ft in front of the car with a very definite line in the beam where the light stops! Is it possible that at some point the lights have been adjusted too low?

Silly question but have you adjusted the adjuster in the car to setting 1? I have also found that they take a couple of hours usage to fully bed in, after that they are brighter, but this may not be your issue here.

The vectra headlight units are fine in my opinion and work a charm with HIDS.

What is suspect you have done is exactly what i did... I installed mine and was disappoionted to start... same as you beam only 10ft in front of the car. Drove like this for ages.

You will probably find that you have inserted them into the headlight block wrong. With mine, where they appeared to be fitted correctly they were in fact wrong. The bulbs needed to be rotated as they will actually locate in the headlight block in two different locations.

Pull the bulbs out and rotate them around until the lugs line up again and push back into position. Make sure they are pushed fully home and i expect that will give you the correct light alignment.

If its the same with yours, then when fitted correctly you will understand why its such a good upgrade

Is yours a preface? as I'm fairly sure the facelift bulbs only fit one way

I had the same definitive line where the light stopped with the standard bulbs which is what makes me think the issue is the level of the lights rather than the new bulbs.

    *EDIT*
Yes they're set to '0' on the dash (people keep saying 1 but my dial runs from 0-4)

Had the passenger side light out and fiddled until it'd go in a different location (not easy to do) and in the new location you can tell it's wrong as only 1/2 the projector lights up! I've put it back where it was and will get them properly aligned tomorrow morning.
