    Default Early MOT question

    Evening all

My Signum is due for MOT next Feb 2012 along with loads of other bills ie other halfs Mini's MOT, Tax, Insurance, Service, and 5 close family birthdays and Valentines day plus still getting over Christmas.

And so was thinking of getting my MOT done next month which is four months early so as to break up the huge expence in february

Should my Signum fail will this cancel the current valid MOT certificate?

It most likely would cancel out the current one.

NO it will not. I am an Authorised Examiner and you can rest assured your existing MOT will STILL be valid.

If you get it done early and it passes, that will cancel out the certificate you already had because you can't have two current certificates.

So even though if it failed I could then drive for a further four months on the current MOT without invalidating my insurance etc? (Not that I would)

Absolutely, categorically YES. Sounds ridiculous, but it is a fact. If you don't believe me or you want to make absolutely 100% sure, then ring your local VOSA traffic office and ask them, and they will tell you exactly what I have.
