We looked into getting a house cat a few years ago, we stayed 3 stories up in a flat. Everyone we spoke to said you need to have 2, if you don't 1 will tear your house to shreds through sheer boredom.

cats imo should be kept indoors & taken for walks etc... no offence bud. but a stray cat cost me a bumper & a vet bill once.
The cat ran out onto the road, i tried my best but still hit it, i did the right thing by taking it to the vet... i paid for it to be pts, then had to pay for my bumper repair.
No owner came forward & i won't be paying for a stray again...
i have enough paying for our dogs & pony, which by law are not allowed to stray.

you done the right thing there mate by taking it to the vets

i have looked on the net and its mixed views as some people say yes keep the cat indoors only if its from a kitten and it wont be any ov the wiser plus its less chance ov catching things or catching peoples bumpers lol others say the opp if i do i will get 2 i just want to be sure as i do work 12 hr shifts and i dont want to be cruel on the little dude

you could make or buy a cat run for the garden, if you have room... my mate has a pen full of bengals, stunning, expensive & do not roam out of his large pen which has a kennel & lots branches & things to keep them entertained
