Talking Got a job done today

Decided to tackle the upper control arms today.took me two and a half hours to do one side and that was the side without the exhaust,Didn't have time for the other side as i didn't get started to four due to the wife swanning off with the car all day.All I can say is incredibly awkward but I got it in the end with the only mishap being that I dropped a socket in the hole in the axle below the inner nut,I wasn't able to get it out so had to leave it in there. On the plus side what a difference!!!!!Handles so much better no more skipping about and most of all no more horrible clunking!!!!The old one was in quite a bad state when I got it out.

Question is do these have to be replaced in pairs as the other side is still ok and I was think about just keeping the other new one until the other side fails. Also is the other side with the exhaust more awkward?

    Cheers,

    Ross.

They are pigs to do aren't they lol, we did mine a couple of weeks ago and all the ARB bushes at the same time.

Whilst you don't HAVE to do them in pairs, it's advisable to, you may not think it's gone, but it will be noticeably different to the other and will not be that far behind if you have done one of them.

that is what i was thinking but it'll have to wait as i go on holiday tommorowbut when i come back I'll be doing the rear discs and pads so i'll probably do it then. I'm pretty annoyed about the socket though!!! I dont want it to develop into an annoying rattle.

I managed to drop the nut in that same hole on one of mine when we did ours. Managed to get it out eventually, nearly breaking my fingers in the process
