    Default 26mpg from a 1.9cdti 150

Why is that. I drive the car till it warms up might do rougly 6-7 miles a day on school run. is this correct. its given me 350 to a tank. Am I doing something wrong?

    kind regards

diesels when used on such short trips are not that much more fuel efficent then petrols fella diesels are fantastic on long trips etc but not that great on short trips like the ones your making saying that when was the last time it was serviced

When resetting the meters do this whilst on the move, not stationary otherwise the average will be lower and then rise
Once reset allow at least 500 miles before using it as an indication of the actual average

Equally, compare the meter against the actual usage, best done on fill to fill and then recording the mileage completed

I do agree though, don't use a diesel for short runs up to 10 miles and expect the average mpg, it will be far below
Also, the published figures are based on a warm / hot engine, not stone cold

Something sounds not right, but 6 -7 miles a day would not even warm the engine up, it's like running a petrol car on full choke. Been on here many times that short start stop driving kills these diesels, thay don't like it. Does your have a DPF?
