Did you take the rubber slides off and clean up the metal?

yea john, there was loads of white rock solid corrosion, spent an hour chipping it out lol

got the slides moving really freely. what bugs me is the footbrake works fine its just the handbrake. if i pull it up say 2 clicks it releases so far but not fully. so i am just carefull how hard i put the brake on lol

I had same problem bought seal repair kit but never fixed problem so ended up buying new caliper. Think problem is were the caliper slide rubber fits to the caliper. The caliper corrodes and compresses the rubber so stops the slide moving freely , i tried clearing corrosion away worked for about 2-3 months but started sticking again hope this helps

oops was interrupted whilst replying so bit late

best thing to do is take caliper off and knock the piston out and clean it all up including the piston

then put it back together with some oil on the piston and keep working it in and out till its free

had to do this last week on a quashquai ( 08 plate !!!! calipers didnt las long !!!! )
