    Default MOT fail, Co2

    Hi.
Had my Signum 2.2 direct in with vx for an MOT this week and it failed.
A few issues I can resolve but 1 I am baffled with.
It failed on emissions, Co2 only. 2.9 on first fast idle and 3.7 on second fast idle.
They said they would need to run a diagnostic which would cost me £42.
Thats steep to tell me what the problem is.
I phoned kwik fit to compare the price of this and they told me they change the cat when a car fails on Co2.
Sometimes they use a fuel additive instead and this can clear the problem, the additive costs £20. Will that work?
What is my best way to get this done quick so I can get the MOT to pass?

I would change the coolant temperature sensor first. Cheap and if it fixes it, you've saved a packet on the alternatives.

normally oil and filter air filter change will bring down the Co2 a lot all it is, is the unburnt mixture so if the air is clean and the oil is clean you get better mixture
