Enable fuel computer with a Vauxcom

Does anyone have the instruction to enable the fuel computer by using a vauxcom tool? I know you need to increment the code index by one and enable the BC (although I already have one with a timer) but just wondered if anyone had any specific instrutions for the vauxcom.

have you enabled the stalk in the cim module

What stalk in the cim module?

The CIM is the module in the steering column that the stalks plug into.
I Used Op-com:
Go into the
BODY then
CIM (Steering Column Module) then
PROGRAMMING then
PROGRAM VARIANT CONFIGURATION then
enter your Immobiliser Code then
find Program Code Index
(I found that I had 2 choices) of
Program Code Index, 007 (No BC) and 008 (BC), then
push
PROGRAM CODE INDEX 008 then
check all the settings are correct (Including Check Control Enabled), check for the BC/wiper stalk (it was the last item on mine), then push PROGRAM.

After a few seconds it should say "Programming Sucessfull"

Power of the ignition for a minute or so, switch back on and check to see if it has worked.

Thanks Tony, part of what you have put makes sense but all this talk about stalks is confusing me. It has never been mentioned before in any other posts I have read. Where do they come into it? I have a cruse control which works fine and also have the built in bluetooth phone or uhp is it? I just though you plugged into the diagnostic plug under the ashtry and dids it all from there?

Bit confused too.
I am assuming that you have an early Vectra, with a TID (no fuel info) and CDR2005 or CAR2004 (I think thats the right code) or a CD30 Radio fitted.
I, and many others, have changed the TID Display for a GID display to enable the onboard computer to work.
Cars that were made with a TID did not have the buttons to control the BC on the right hand stalk.
I had to also buy a Right Hand stalk with the BC Buttons on it to allow control of the GID working. Then i updated the index code of the car to tell the CIM that it now has a GID + BC Stalk.
