    Default Dti vs CDti

im looking for diesel signum, but which engine is more reliable?
Ive heard of problems with the 150 cdti but hardly any with the 2.0dti.
Im not bothered by tuning (just yet!!) its gonna be one of these two engines so all i wanna know is which you think is better/more reliable

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI

    Engine : 3.0 V6 CDTI

    Year : 2007

Both of these engines have their pros and cons, the CDTI's can suffer from inlet manifold issues, they can both suffer from hose splits, the DTI is really limited on tuning compared with the CDTI (don't flame me DTI owners please).
All in all, it really depends on what YOU want from the car.

    The 2.0dti isn't very powerful mate. 95bhp. The 2.2dti is 125bhp. The 1.9cdti 8v is 120bhp and as you know the 1.9cdti 16v is 150.

The 120 1.9cdti is the best compromise as it doest share the main issues the 150 does. Having said that the problems are well documented on here as it's the most popular engine and therefore you should be able to spot a dud. So in conclusion go for a CDTI.

you say your not bothered about tunning just yet well i would go for thr 120bhp cdti and if you just want reliability then either of the dti,s will do your job
