Default Heater air con fan and all interior lights failed

Just driven the car back tonight and the heater, air con, blower and all the interior lights have failed. I cleaned both the scuttle trays a couple of days ago as I had wet floors and checked the posts here and followed the advice. Is this likely to be connected to poor scuttle management? What do I do now?

Sounds like the issue Paddy had at Trax which turned out to be the battery overload fuse.

Not got a bit of foil folded up in your glovebox light to make your new LED bulbs fit have you? (sorry Paddy, couldn't resist)

In all seriousness though, no, not really, but check a few things, looking particularly for shorts, internal bulbs and connections, heater/blower resistor pack etc

Basically, something's shorting directly to earth that shouldn't be somewhere.

Ok, the battery overload fuse pops when the ignition is not even on, could it be the light module behind the dash? Could water from the blocked scuttle got in there? even though it was working ok pre and post scuttle clean? It seems everything else that is not working needs the ignition on to work except the interior and dashboard lighting.

Remove the glovebox and disconnect the glovebox light connection...
Remove the heater control panel and disconnect the two multiplugs,
remove over head console and disconnect the interior lights
also do the same to the boot light... All on the same fuse i believe

try again and see what happens... If you've got a multimeter you can check the fuse holder to ground first to see if the short has been removed...

    Thumbs up

Ok folks, it was fuse F12, and the short was from a broken boot light wedged against the body....simples...thanks for all your help.
