Fed Up With Couriers - City Link

Bought a headlight on Ebay the other day, and missed the delivery yesterday. Wasn't suiting to have it redelivered today, so although it was meaning having to go about an hours round trip to get the package, I just said I would do that today.

After trailing all the way to Motherwell for it after work (I'm in Kilmarnock) I get the box home and open it only to be met with a headlight that looks fine at a glance, but has clearly been dropped and all the innards are rattling about like a tube of smarties. Utterly goosed.

I've had so many things like this lately it's unreal, it would absolutely burst your head. In fairness to the seller, he had marked the box as "Fragile" and wrapped the light in bubblewrap, so they must have given it quite a dunt.

Was raging. Now have to see if I can get my money back from the fellow.

It's a real pain in the rear. Don't even want to set about buying another one until I make sure I'm getting my money back for this damaged one.

It was a black preface SRi one to go in my LS. I've already got it's neighbour sitting there all nicely refurbed ready to slot in. Was going to be a wee project for the weekend, but not now.

parcel farce had the phone call from hell off me tonight.

2 so called failed deliveries but no cards left

wife took a day off today and they didnt show at all.

i WILL be receiving compensation

Glad to hear it, nothing worse than waiting in all day for no reason. Well, unless you wait in all day then the thing is broken.....

Couldn't agree more, but I didn't know he would send it via City Link. Royal Mail can have their problems too, but at least it usually just goes to a local depot if you miss the delivery.

Seriously, I always check. In the past City Link have been inflexible, unreliable, have lost packages, and damaged others. Not to mention you have to travel hours to the nearest depot. There are so many couriers out there now there's no reason to go with this shoddy org.

I've had nothing but bad experience with city link aswell. Esp when they call you a liar and say the delivery driver attempted deilvery and left a card....Ehh no they didn't! Never will use them again or buy from anywhere that uses them

Clearly I'm not alone in my loathing of them at present!

The ebay listing just said "other courier", so there was no way of knowing. Just need to hope the fellow understands it's hardly my fault and coughs up the refund.
