    Default tow bar ,slight hitch!.

As my first posting, may i say how interesting this group is, such a wealth of expertise and knowledge in answer to the questions asked. Now its my turn, i intend to fit a towbar and single electrics to my 2.2, i bought the bar [unused] off fleabay, the wiring loom is a genuine Vx part to plug into rear fuseboard, i have read and hopefully absorbed the procedure of rear bumper removal. Does anyone know of any other probs that may occur during this episode ?, i would rather be aware now than find out the hard way !!

    possible problems?? not many..

If you have a hatch or saloon it should be easy..just drill the 40mm hole in the rear panel and fit the extra relay..then plug in the extra plug.. if you're lucky you may have one of the cars that doesn't need TECH2 to recognise the presence of the trailer kit..just remember to plug it in when the key isn't in the ignition and the CANBUS is dormant

If you've got an estate, you've got a nasty surprise coming that we'll tell you about if it applys.

As well as taking off the bumper, it does help to take off the rear silencer to get at the nearside bolts..and don't forget to remove all the mastic in the boot where the pinch plate lays..

apart from that they're a walk in the park..

oh, and to the site by the way..

Oh the estate with Irmy skirt, Irmy quads and factory parking sensors was a piece of cake, nothing I couldn't sort with a large hammer, hack saw and a soldering iron, no really, lol.

yeah, but can you see a VX tech doing what you did to get it patched in to that socket..

got back to that guy at VX technical... he was shocked at what we had to do to get the kit to fit.. and i passed on the comments about the 'quality' insulation of the wiring.. he's put in a requset to VX engineers to follow up on the call.. so you may be responsible for a product change..

Bit like me with my aftermarket Vx (Bosch) parking sensors on the Signum. Product department rewrote the fitting instructions after my dealer got onto them to say that all wasn't well!
