Default I'm coming to Blackpool this weekend

I'm coming to Blackpool tomorrow for a long weekend .

we are going to see the illuminations and the fair .

actually , no one has even bothered to look , to see if they are on , l.o.l.

we are staying in Preston at the Premier inn , which we booked over a month ago to get the £ 29 a night deal ,

BUT , only yesterday does the Premier Inn ring to say they do NOT have an on site car park and you have to pay to use the Euro car park next to it ............ W.T.F.

i said can't we park on the street outside and she said it's all double yellows .

The Euro car park is about £ 5.00 from 6.30 pm / evening until 7.30 am in the morning , when i'm expected to get out of bed and pay an extra £ 1.10 for every hour after .

So if we want to come back for a quick bite of lunch or change our clothes , it will cost us to park outside the hotel .......

Then the receptionist said on the phone , but if you buy 2 X £ 4.50 tickets and stick them in your window you can park for 24 hours ,

BUT , these are only available after 3.30 pm .

O.K. = £ 18 is not the end of the world for 2 nights parking , but , you would think , that you could at the least , park outside your own hotel and it would be FREE .

Any parent with kids knows that you have enough of a handful with your children , bags , prams etc etc etc without having to drag it all from a car park to the hotel and be upset further more by having the priviledge to pay for it .

WHY THE HECK BUILD A HOTEL WITHOUT IT'S OWN CAR PARK !!!

unfortunately , we can only get the £ 29 a night deal if you book 21 days in advance , so if we swap hotels now ( according to reception ) we still have to pay for £ 29 a night hotel ,

BUT , the new hotel will be about £ 50 a night extra .

    COVER YOUR EARS .

    Aaaaaaarrrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!

Does anyone else agree with me or think i'm being silly because the carpark is not on site and they ring us up with 3 days to go , to tell us ?

Thanks for listening to my rant ............ Over Now .

if you book a hotel you expect parking on site its not a little back street b&b their pretty big places
lights are on but havent drove them my daughter rode them on her bike on the test night before they opened to public
they have changed the front so make sure you put plenty of fuel in your car as its now 1 lane going one way and one going the other where it use to be 2 each side during the day its nose to nose so dont know what its like at night
also dont make a packed lunch when you go to pleasure beach as no food is aloud in new park rules we went their last mth made a massive packed lunch for us all and had to leave it in the car but the new part nicolodion land (sorry about spelling) is great for the little ones

the Preston Central Premier Inn , could at least reduce their prices by a few quid to help with the ( lack of free ) parking situation .

Come on !!! , if two hotels charge the exact same price of £ 29 per night ,

BUT ,,, one has a free on site car park right outside the hotel and the other has a car park that charges you off site .

Which are you going to chose ?

You know what ? Preston central Premier Inn is about 17 miles from Blackpool and i would have chosen another Premier Inn ANOTHER plus ten miles away to have a free car park so that my family and i can come and go as we please during our stay .

Fair enough if you're a business person who knows they are going to be out all day and back after 7 pm for example ,

but when you have a young family , you need to be able to park close to your acommodation and without the hassle of buying parking tickets .

well you live and learn .... l.o.l.

is it too much to ask for a hotel with free nearish parking .

i will ALWAYS enquire about parking from now on .

I overheard a woman in the shop this morning saying it took her three and a half hours to drive through the illuminations last night.

    Yes , i agree ,

but after 3.5 hours of illuminations at least by the time we get back to Preston ( 17 miles away ) there's a good chance the kids will be asleep .

Peace and queit for adults ==
