Question Thinking of getting Parking Sensors from VX Dealer

I've been thinking of getting rear parking sensors fitted to my Vectra.

I've searched lots of threads about DIY but really don't fancy this at all.

Does anyone know of the different options and prices that are available from Vauxhall Dealers.

I'm looking for a fully fitted job - something that looks like it 'should be there'...

Asking on here first, before phoning my local dealer, as I don't want to get screwed by the dealer. Can anyone also recommend a dealer close to South Yorkshire - have you had yours done???

Any info on packages available - ie can you get front sensors fitted as well. I've also noticed 2,4 or 6 sensor versions.

Any help would be much appreciated.....

    Many thanks
    Richard

I've had a four sensor rear set fitted. Quoted price was £250, and cosmectically they are great. However they did not take the bulb check function or door to door lighting into consideration. They're now going to install a better system which i've been assured will work properly, but i guess they'll no longer be making much of a profit!

i was very sceptical at fitting these myself never been any good at diy but managed to fit them myself and found it extremely easy and all for 35.00 go do it yourself and save a fortune it looks a nightmare but it really is simple

didnt affect the bulb check at all. door to door lighting activated the reverse sensors but saving 200.00 i could live with that as how many times do you walk round the back of the car to your door?????

someone did post up the wiring diagram to prevent it from being activated with those features, using a simple relay. just do a search for reverse sensor wiring im sure it will come up.

Vx are doing an offer of £150 fitted for the two rear sensers on the number plate at my local dealers! If you google there are a few suppliers who also do mobile fitting and diy kits in most variations. Would also be interested to hear of anyones experiences.

The veccy is reasonably wide, so i think you're better going for four sensors. the factory fit locations are near the corners of the vehicle, so give some side detection as well, helpful for reversing into a bay or car parks with od placed bollards/trees etc.

Worth having a word with pentagon sheffield, My 2.2DTi came with them from there and I don't think they are standard fit.

Make sure they fit good ones like 'Steelmate' or something i would say they should be about £250 fitted (Kit costs about £110) they have 4 sensors if you get the PTS400M and a little led display for the front. Come in Black or Silver as standard but very easy to give a coat of paint
