Default Anyone Tried DIY Pre-Cut Window Tint

Just ordered some pre cut tints for the Vectra, 5% for rear windows of the car.

I bought some tint from Halfords ages ago when I had an Astra but made a big balls up trying to cut it so I figured this shouldn't be too hard if it's pre cut.

    Anyone had experiences?

    Cutting its the easy bit...

The side windows should be pretty easy as the glass is flat but the rear window will be a complete tw*t due to the glass being curved. Its recommended that you do it in two or three strips. Have a look on google.

I did my girlfriends punto last week for practice using a 6m roll i got off ebay for £10 and it took me three attempts to do the rear window.

    Good luck

I went for the blinds as they are so easy to fit, you can open the rear windows and the blind stays in place which is very handy with having a dog and also when I no longer want them I can sell them on and they cost £70

Precut is ok if it's precut to the right size..

Sometimes they can be slighty too small and then it looks all wrong as it's too small

Not just the rear is curved m8, they are all curved very slightly, my brother in law is from a proffesional tinting company with 9 years experience and even been a proffesional finds the vectras rear quaters difficult over any other car on the road almost! Id suggest taking the rear quater glass out to do it, otherwise you may find yourself scrunching the film up and throwing up wall! How much have you paid?

I'm just going to really take my time with it, might even take all the rubbers and the door cards out just so I can get it perfect!

I will have a look at doing it in strips but if I'm honest I don't like the sound of it!

If it's too small I will be sending it right back for a replacement of refund, as it being pre-cut is the whole point I'm buying it, fingers crossed though eh

I thought the rear quarter would be the easiest

The tints came to £35 and I bought a squeege, a knife and a spray bottle for £6

Do you still have to stretch the pre cut ones?

They are the hardest as access to them is very poor, even with your rear seat folded down its very hard to get your tools in to flat the film out and squidge water out as from the inside they have really chunky plastic surrounds the rear quaters and they are very small to tint.
