    Default optional extras

    OK..
Most of us have bought our cars second hand and was wondering how do you tell what extras were added when the car was bought... that is not obvious extras like electric seats but more like things ESP..how would you tell if thats on there. I have traction control cause the light flickers!

All Uk Vec-c's have traction control as standard. ESP was the optional extra that gave you the switch to control it as well

I know which options are on my car because I bought it from new and still have all the receipts/brochures/sales dockets etc for it, but I'm not sure there's anywhere other than perhaps contacting the Vauxhall dealer it came from to see if they could tell you what was added as factory options to it.

You can also find out from anyone with EPC what the original build of your vehicle was - all they need is your chassis number.

Should have matey. It's not switchable by default so you won't have a switch for it. Try spinning your wheels up, do you get an orange triangle light up on the dash? If you do then yup, it's there

They actually called it "corner assist" officially, but it's a basic traction control.

I should add, my original statement above is actually incorrect, they removed it as standard on later facelifts in more Vx budget cuts. Another good reason for having a pre-face

Not done a standing start for many years, lol, but had wheels spinning during last winter and never noticed any flashing light on the dash Ian.

Then I may be incorrect (wouldn't be the first time) but I was fairly sure it was standard even on the LS. Certainly the dealer told me it was, although they did tell me a few errrm incorrect things when I first ordered mine lol

Only all pre-facelifts had traction control. On facelifts only the v6's had it standard.

Traction control was Not standard on all vecs .......1.8 models only had it as an option but only T/C, most other models had traction control as standard with T/C Plus as an option which gave the switch then there were the V6 models that had T/C and ESP as standard. HTH

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Wow this has made interesting reading.
Mine def has TC mine is pre face lift on a 53 plate, but a V6 diesel. As far as i am aware mine has no switch for ESP plus my hand book talks of it but shows no switch either! hence the curiosity...I love the fact the hand book talks of a heatimg option that can be programmed to come on and warm the car before you come to use it...genius...just dont have that one !
