Vectra C :difference between headlights

Got my headlight broke and want to replace it. I have black chrome pre-facelift headlights with a factory HIDs (not a bi-xenons) : is a hid headlight the same as a non-hid one? i mean are all headligths the same, would i be able to attache a back lid covering hid bulb? (there are 3 holding screws)
are lenses the same for a low beam?

i dont think they are the same the standard headlight has a projector for the high beam but i could be wrong

Answer to your question . you can't use halogen headlight unit in place of HId unit it won't work .

why not? what is the difference?

forgot to mention : the headlight has not broken apart just got a crack. So i was thinking about installing a hid bulb and the auto level adjuster into a non-hid (halogen) headlight

Firstly buld fitment totaly different.
