    Default Front washers trickling!

My washer jets aren't right! They give a little spurt, then the water just trickles out. I can hear the pump spinning but it sounds like its being strangled! The rear one works fine.

I've tried flushing the bottle out with a hose, but that didn't work so I have 2 questions:

Will it be a warranty job?
What else can I try before removing the bumper etc to get to the bottle and motor?

is it all of them Jamie, or just one?

haveyou checked the hose connections? maybe it's leaking from soemwhere. any telltale puddles under the car?

it may be a blockage at the bottom of the water bottle, happened to mine, but on the back, cleared itself up after a while, but obviously if its on the front then you want to get that sorted?

Mark (GSi) will be able to tell you exactly how to get to it

Sounds like it's got prostate problems. How did you say the car was ??

A bit more seriously, it looks like some gunge in the tubes to the front windscreen rather than a motor issue. Better brains than mine can advise on what to do.

Its all 4... no fluid coming through at all... and no puddles, so there is a blockage somewhere in the system.

I'm hoping it might be warranty??????????????????

from what Mark was telling me when mine was blocked its easy enough to do yourself, you just need to reach under and behind the bumper to get to the bottom of the washer bottle/motor and release a few things and bobs your uncle.

if you take it to a dealer for a warranty fix you'll only get it back and realise your cruise control doesn't work, the drivers window goes up and down in tune with the music and the rear windscreen wiper is on permanently reminding you of that megane advert and how your car now looks like an over excited puppy!

    Jamie..

if no fluid is getting through at all, then i'd lay good money on it being the stupid filter in the seal around the pump..

to get it out, look up under the bumper in front of the NSF wheel and find the tank and the pump.. don't need to disconnect anything at all.. just prise the pump straight up and it'll pop out of the tank..WATCH OUT for the tank emptying itself on you!!

I bet you'll only get a small, slow trickle out of the tank.. what you do then is to prise out the black seal and it'll come out and turn out to be about 1" long..the minute holes on it's end will be covered in a slime.. clean it off under a tap and make sure you get a flow through it..replace the seal and pump, refill the tank and test..

15 minute job with little dissasembly..
