Default DTUK RED BOX. big smiles

    hi guys.

fitted the tuning box today, nice easy mod for anyone interested. 5 mins and job done.

went out for a quick run and to say i'm impressed would be an understatment .

can't believe the difference its made, its the best £80 i've ever spent on a car mod .

just need to find the best setting for my driving .

will have to get them drilled and grooved discs now. lol

i was considering a red box a few weeks ago but ended up getting a green box. The difference that it makes is awesome! I wouldn't go back to stock!

its an older model i think, its ali with red ends and you have to unscrew a panel on one end to adjust the power settings.

i was told it has one map and 9 power settings.

don't have any paperwork so can only go on what i was told.

works a treat though, so not to bothered about how it looks.

Silly question but im guessing you have to inform your insurance company - does it cost much extra?

    Does it look like this...?

If so then it is a CRD2 unit...

Instructuions for it taken from AON. Hope the pics work...

The following images are examples of the CRD2 (09) settings.

    MAP1 +0%

    MAP2 +0%

MAP3 +0% (Known as Mickie Map)

MAP4 +0% (Known as ABYSS Map)

Once you have found the MAP that is suitable to your driving style, you can adjust the settings on that map to increase or decrease power to suite your own driving style.
To so this all you need to do is move the single jumper to the right by 1 place to increase by 10%
EG MAP4 -10% (Known as ABYSS Map)

EG MAP4 +20% (Known as ABYSS Map)

It is recommended that you run your car between each change to the box checking each time for excess smoke and the EML under load
You will also notice that the CRD2 (09) has a resistor installed, This will force the LED light on the box to remain ON after the engine has been turned off for up to 15 minutes,
It is also recommended that you wait until the LED has gone off before making any changes to the box.

no mate, wish it did look like that.

red ends, but the box is silver ali not grey plastic.

think mine is the older model, may be cr1.

it has one dial with 9 settings, only one map i think.

cheers for the info anyway .

Ahh... must be like the Green Box then in terms of one dial to manage...

Chances are the box has just a single map but the dial controls the + or - oooomf on the map if that makes sence.
