DPF experts required

I am experiencing DPF high pressure issues since I had the car remapped. What I want to know is , if I remove all the internals out of the DPF and have that part mapped out will I experience issues. Or do I have to leave part of the filter inside , so I still have back pressure? The company that mapped the car originally will remove the DPF from the map for another £50 , so no issues there , just want to know what is best to clear it out totally or just partially.

If you are having it mapped out then either remove the internals or replace the entire unit with a piece of pipe.

knock it through fully or replace it and map it out mate, there are no downsides and alot of upsides if your having dpf troubles

the map isnt really due to the backpressure its so the ecu doesnt try a regen which it cant do using large amounts of fuel

yepo not a problem, i think several other members have done it, if its not there and the ecu dont know anything about what a dpf is lol then all is ok

Ian at MPG now do DPF jobs and he removes then with software which is basically a remap and then you can gut or remove the DPF itself and replace with a straight through pipe. Ian also says its quicker and easier to actually remove the DPF rather than knock its guts out. Its my next modd for sure

Do you have to have DPF mapped out or can you just thrash the middle out

So I have been told to avoid errors etc, if the ECU has no trace of DPF on it then no DPF issues will happen

If there is no insides the DPF pressure sensor surely would get the same readings so in theory DPF "will never need regenerating"

Other factors are there to but I am not sure. 1 example is my Remap makes the DPF do a regen every 1000mls so that would be a problem and apparantly you can make your DPF regen by driving at a constant high rpm for a few miles like on a motorway so again another problem. Try it your way and report back as you might be right but I think you will have issues
