    Default Temperature read out

hi all before the cold weather started my temp read out on the display was always spot on , now the winter is approaching the read out seems to think the car is in sunny australia with an average readout of 27.5 c! is there a quick fix to this , or should i get it looked at (would it be covered under warrenty ? its not a major problem but you do expect things to work right.) thanks.

Could this be the temp sensor mounted behind from bumper been faulty. Seem to remeber this been covered before. Easy to remedy with a new sensor.

    Sure someone will confirm soon,

    Paul.

I had this problem with my last Vec. The temperature gauge kept going up slowly day by day. Took it down the Vx garage and they replaced the sensor I think.

    Moved for you..

It is indeed a problem with our old freind the outside air temerature sensor..

it's located centre bottom of the lower grille of the front bumper.. you'll see a wiring loom go to the centre of the grille.. access is ssooo easy, you can get at it by just lifting the bonnet.. sensor is held in with a silly plastic clip..

Buy one and fit it yourself if you're out of warranty and save a pile of cash.. or if you've got warranty they can't fob you off now can they..

Mines was replaced after reading a constant 70 degrees. If the temp is changing about, but its wrong, the calibration os probably out and if its static on some mad temp then its just ****d. Either way a replacement it required I think.
