    Default Blown light warning

    Another strange one this

Light on dash telling me I have a blown light. I have checked the head lights, side lights, main beam, front & back fogs, rear lights, brake lights, indicators front, back, side, reversing lights and even number plate bulbs. None are blown.

    Have I missed any?

That has happened to a lot of us. You will find one of the lights has gone out in a few days. Some one once said it is due to the "less" resistance in the "blowing bulb" that triggers the blown warning alarm. Maybe try cleaning all the bulb contacts too, one might be dirty.

The front side light did blow at the weekend, replaced it and light on dash went out. Now back on but none blown.

So....One may be about to blow, but I have to take all bulbs out and clean the connections to get the bulb on dash out? Think I'll just wait for the next one to blow then.

    Double check the rear bulbs.

There are 2 tail light bulbs on each side of the car. The upper one is also the brake light. Should the upper bulb fail, the lower bulb takes over the role of tail / brake light.

Rear light positions (from the top down)

    Indicators
    Tail & brake lights
Tail lights (which then becomes a brake light as well should the original tail/brake light fail)
Fog light (drivers side only - UK)
    Reverse lights.

All bulbs are 21 watt single filament bulbs.

as above your system is reading a drop in resistance, could be a bulb about to go or the fitting of a cheaper bulb.

I had two brake light bulbs go and one tail light go on me in the space of two weeks. Had the errors appear before they went pop. I thought my vec might have had a short somewhere but after replacing every rear bulb for new, I have had no errors or popping bulbs in over a year. You will have one go pop on you very soon.

Try changing the sidelight you recently changed. Could be a dodgy bulb. Just swap it for an interior light bulb

My veccy tells me exactly which bulb has blown when the warning is on
