    Default Royal Mail Postal Scam....look.....

    Royal Mail postal scam.

Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching -
it has been confirmed by Royal Mail.

The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following
    scam :

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a
parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium
rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam
originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear
a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the
    phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please
contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate
    service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk <http://www.icstis.org.uk/>
or your local trading standards office.

This is a genuine scam and is under investigation by ICSTIS

You've upset my wife a bit,she works for Royal Mail & they have NOTHING to do with this scam.Royal Mail don't often get the best press,so i'd like to make it perfectly clear that Royal Mail has no control over these scammers. As Micky says DON'T PHONE THE NUMBER.
If Royal Mail attempt to deliver a parcel/packet to you & you're out, the card that is left by your postman is a P739(this number can be found on the rear of the card,in the top right hand corner) #small writing within the red boarder#

This was a scam, but 12 months ago.

Below paragraph taken from the hoax-slayer.com website :-

During the Christmas period 2005, a number of people across the UK received cards from Parcel Delivery Services (a service run through a service provider called Studio Telecom). When ICSTIS were informed of the content and promotion of this service they invoked their Emergency Procedure - for details click this link - http://www.icstis.org.uk/service_pro...ts/default.asp) and removed access to the service (operating on 20 numbers) on 29 December 2005.

So it would seem there is no need to worry

Must be a new "strain" as the original was stopped in its tracks last December.
Lets hope the 2 people in Plymouth had the sense to report it.
