Question Z19DT and Z19DTH Sanity Check Please

    Dear all,

I think I am going mad , cause by Vx Dealer

I had my car in today for a new handbrake lever ... I think they may have removed my exhaust and heat reflector shield to access the fixings for the handbrake lever.

Question to the 1.9CDTi owners, please can you have a look under your car and confirm whether you have the bracket listed as item #3 on the attached diagram (It is attached across the aluminium heat shield to support the catalyst cross member in the event of separation or corrosion)

Reason for asking, my 1.9CDTi does not have it (or no longer has it )

I found a missing nut from the heatshield also ... I'm not too sure whether my exhaust has been removed, because some mild corrosion is still present on some of the screws, would have expected them to be a bit shiny if removed.

I think my dealer is an aR*e ... will have to go somewhere else for my servicing ...

I can't even be bothered going back to my dealer and asking them, their attitude leads a lot to be desired. Because I was asking some questions they thought I worked for Vauxhall , I nearly mentioned this site but thought ... lets keep them guessing

Hope my clunking noise has gone from my handbrake .... and hope my exhaust is okay.

If other people have the bracket, I will just go any buy the part and fix it myself ..... and go to another dealer in the future.

    HELP !

I have the 1.9 DTH (150 16v). Mine does not have this bracket fitted.

Now if I remember correctly, this bracket has something to do with an extra particle filter as fitted to Signum and Vectra Estate models with the longer wheel base. I am sure this has something to do with it.

This is why Signum and Vectra Estate models don't have the 30,000 service intervals, I beleive they need an oil change half way.

Don't quoet me on this but I am sure this part of the reason some have this bracket and some don't.

Thanks for feedback so far .... hopefully some more CDTi owners will have a look tomorrow, later when the rain stops ?

I'm a bit relieved that at least two other DCTi owners do not have the bracket ...

I thought most Z19 DT and Z19DTH are Euro 4 compliant ... this meaning that they have a particle filter fitted ....

The particle filter is item number 22, and bracket is now number 8.

    Anyone else?

    Cheers

They are somewhat on the large side (dimensions), may need to reduce them for you. They are also strictly Vx copyright so a little dodgy posting them up maybe!

    Thanks Duncan,

I'll moderate and reduce the physical size in future, I thought that it would be a nightmare to describe and hey, I had the image on my computer.

Please ... more CDTi owners reply ... soon

No probs. I've reduced it a bit and happy to keep it on the thread whilst you try to resolve your problem. As you say, a picture paints a thousand words....

Hope some other owners can get themselves under their car for you!

Any more 1.9CDTi Hatchback owners care to look under their car to confirm whether they have a bracket fitted as listed in this thread please?

    Thanks in anticipation

Well I've just been under my '04 1.9 CDTi and there ain't a bracket like that anywhere under there, so I would assume you are OK Denzo.
