Default New Footwell Lighting. Thanks Farley2708

Finished my front footwell lighting mod today.

God I hit so many problems and I was having a bit of a Tim nice but Dim day. (Doesn't happen often honest) I have never swore so much in one day! and after it all i managed to tread in Doggie Doo doo. hmmmm.

Anyhow Farley2708 got me onto this. He has been so helpfull in giving me all the links to parts and the "how to" required to get this done.

He sent me lots of pics of his vec so I could see what to expect. Thanks mate. Your help has been very much appreciated.

Here are some bad quality iPhone pics. I love unlocking the car much more now

Oh im doing the rears in a few weeks time. That will be easy now that I have now laid down the wiring foundations.

Thansk very much Kalid. I thought about blue but as Im in the throws of changing all orange LED's to blue I thought it maybe too much of one colour so went for white.

Have to say night time driving has got a lot more enjoyable now

Hello Mate. Below is some info to help you do what I did.

First off the how to. I didn't just push the wires into the interior light section as he said. I thought they would come loose after a while. I have SRi suspension after all. I wrapped them round the joint them dabbed a bit of solder onto them to keep them there. I know it does not look pretty but they are a firm fit.

After following the "How to" I then fitted these in the footwells.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISA...:X:AAQ:GB:1123

They give a good span of light but with one problem. Once they get hot they fall off the sticky backing pad. I cured this with some Araldite. Dont use cheap super glue as it will eat through the board and short the ligths. You dont want that trust me.

I'm going to update the install with some proper connection blocks so I can spur off to the rear. For the meantime though im really happy with them.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

Thanks very much all. It makes the work I did today alot more pleasurable.

I hated doing this mod today (as I was beset with so many problems)

Then I finished then I was a very happy chappie and glad I persisted.

Some mods go well and others are set to trial you patience
