Couple of quick 'where' questions

Right, talk about timing. I join this forum and a mate's 16v CDTi stops working.
Turns over but will not fire. Checked timing, OK. Checked cam sensor,OK.

But where is the Crank sensor located - I cannot see it.

and

where is the fuel cut-off switch? (05 hatch).

Having to check everything as I think of it as I wasn't about when it died and my mate is as technically-adept as a dish-cloth.
Any help would be much appreciated

The crank sensor on the 1.9 diesel is on the rear of the engine block in the area below the starter motor. There is no fuel cut of switch as far as I know but there is a pump mounted in the fuel tank that you should be able to hear running when you switch on the ignition.

Checked fuel and it is being pumped to the filter. I have now gained a list of diagnosis codes so will try to see which one comes up in the morning.
