    Default Emmissions light coming on when accelerating

    I had a problem with the emissions light coming on when giving it some beans, and then going into limp mode. Had it for over a year.
    Misfire indicated in 2 cylinders.
    Had it down to Evans Halshaw in Leeds in June. they replaced the ignition coil pack, costing me £350. And it made no difference at all.

    Recently took it to AET Turbos in Normanton, on a recommendation, and they found it was the spark plug gaps. They were about 1 mm out. Sorted and back to normal.

    Also gave me some advice on my EDS remap, and the possible problems of running lean.

    Yeah can be a common problem when mapping a 2.8T. I have read over on VXRonline that they have to do it quite regularly. Not had this problem with mine yet but maybe thats because I upgraded to NGK Iridium plugs.

    I have NGK Iridiums as well.

    It's good to know that they may have to be adjusted in the future.

    Oh yes matey. I think its strange how some have to and some others don't maybe its to do with fuel delivery built into the map etc?

    Well mine was rr'd before and after on the same rr. Before was 220.3bhp and after is 281.1bhp so a again of just over 60bhp. torque went from 280 ftlb upto 325 ftlb. What about you?

    Not been on a rolling road.
    The claim for the map was 309bhp and 400ft-lb of torque.
    Midpoint garage.

    The guy at AET Turbos said that it was over 300bhp on the dyno.
    I have the readouts.

    But he said that it is running leaner than they would do, which creates a danger of detonation, apparently.
    They would set up a richer mixture, so it would lose some bhp, but keep the torque. But for another £400+, I think I'll leave it.
    Maybe it b***ers up the plugs as well.

    It is fantastic now it's fixed.
    Just kept going into limp mode.
    Now it just keeps going
